case study: Village of Evendale
Evendale, Ohio | Village of Evendale | AeroHub Innovation District
the challenge
The Village of Evendale is a manufacturing powerhouse in the Greater Cincinnati region and is home to major headquarters for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. In 2016, Evendale initiated the creation of a game-changing project in Southwest Ohio, adjacent to the headquarters of GE Aviation. What began with only 13 acres grew to a planned 230-acre district, branded as the AeroHub Innovation District. The goal of the AeroHub Innovation District is to create the ideal location that supports cutting-edge innovation, retains and attracts advanced manufacturers and symbiotic businesses, and helps build a skilled workforce, ultimately bringing prosperity to the region and its businesses.
the solution
In collaboration with Red Tiger Investment Solutions, Kolar focused on strategic planning and identifying opportunities to build an active, advanced manufacturing ecosystem to support GE and the Southwest Ohio aerospace region. Kolar managed community engagement aspects of the project, conducting a market demand analysis, and overall marketing and branding for the district. Upon its completion, it was projected that AeroHub would consist of approximately 1 million square feet of new space, $150 million in capital investment, and 3,500 new jobs, bringing in an estimated $245 million in annual payroll and $2.9 million in annual income tax.
