Founded in 1901, Enerfab, an industry leader in providing fabrication, construction, and maintenance services within the utility and heavy industrial markets. The organization wanted to highlight their customer-centric heritage, humble pride, and commitment to putting safety first and delivering excellence in everything it does through their newly renovated, 11,000 sq ft headquarters. The new space presented the opportunity to uncover a century-long story of Midwest pride and truly showcase their legacy brand and create a more connected internal team culture. 

 

the solution
The solution is an inspired workplace design that brings Enerfab back to ONE – forging one steadfast vision, connecting multiple regional offices, from the warm and welcoming lobby, collaborative boardrooms and workstations to the energetic café and industrial shop on-site. Dynamic graphic focals resonate with visitors and team members alike to visually communicate Enerfab’s customer-centric heritage, humble pride and commitment to putting safety first and delivering excellence in everything it does. Industrial tools of the trade become a textural materials palette, re-imagined as engaging artifacts to artfully connect people to place in a meaningful way. Modern furnishings provide a fresh pop of brand color juxtaposed with the perfectly preserved architectural features. The progressive interior design carefully curates exposed steel columns, brick walls, and concrete floors with an authentic backdrop of original factory windows and industrial boardroom tables, handcrafted by the Enerfab team themselves. Through the discovery process, using KEI’s unique methodology, Kolar created a catalytic change in business operations and the culture to better engage and support employee needs. With data-driven insights, Kolar developed an employee engagement strategy measuring the physical space functionality, utilization, technology needs, and current state of the team culture.

The new workplace design creates an enlivened sense of place, amplifying the Enerfab brand and their timeless success story of the confident connections that continue to influence just about any given object it touches on any given day.
